Month of Prayer 2015

It's time for the second annual Month of Prayer for the Unreached Peoples of Mexico! Most American's don't know that just over the border in Mexico, there are 200 different indigenous people groups, each with their own distinctive cultural and religious practices and speaking a multitude of different languages and dialects. Many of these people groups are poorly reached with the gospel, 14 are not only unreached but nobody is actively working to take them the gospel, and another 15 are unreached, but do have some efforts to reach them.
It's time to pray for God's Spirit to fall upon them in power to draw them unto Himself. It's time to pray for the Lord of the Harvest to thrust out laborers and churches who are compelled to take the gospel to these people groups who are so geographically close to all of the resources of the American church, but so very far from the truth of the gospel. It's time to pray for the representatives of these people groups who have come to the United States in search of economic opportunity and freedom from violence to find true abundance and peace in Christ.

Month of Prayer Follow-Up

Thank you so much for your prayers for the Unreached Peoples of Mexico during the Month of May! More than 1000 of you visited the blog, and between 200-600 of you saw the prayer requests on Facebook each day throughout the month. During the course of the month, we saw answers to your prayers. Populations of three of the target unreached people groups were located in nine different places in the USA, including one people group that we did not know was present in the USA.

Locating these people groups is the first step toward engaging them with the gospel. If you or your church is interested in reaching out to these unreached people groups from Mexico who are now living here, please contact us so that we can assist you in finding a people group near where you live and minister. May 31 - Pray for the Rayon Zoque

The Rayon Zoque have a population of 13,000. They are part of the Mixe people cluster. This people group is only known to be found in Mexico. Their primary language is Spanish and their primary religion is a mixture of Catholicism and tribal witchcraft. This people group is less than 2% evangelical but there has been initial or concentrated church planting among them within the past two years.

As you pray for the Rayon Zoque:
1. Ask the Father to raise up workers to take the gospel to them
2. Ask for open access, as many groups are suspicious of evangelicals
3. Ask for His Holy Spirit to be preparing hearts to receive the gospel
4. Ask that those who have immigrated to the USA would be located and reached and take the gospel back to their people

May 30 - Pray for the Yautepec Zapotec

The Yautepec Zapotec have a population of 400. They are part of the Zapotec people cluster. This people group is only known to be found in Mexico. Their primary language is Spanish and their primary religion is a mixture of Catholicism and tribal witchcraft. This people group is less than 2% evangelical, and while some evangelical resources are available, there has been no active church planting among them within the past two years.

As you pray for the Yautepec Zapotec:
1. Ask the Father to raise up workers to take the gospel to them
2. Ask for open access, as many groups are suspicious of evangelicals
3. Ask for His Holy Spirit to be preparing hearts to receive the gospel
4. Ask that those who have immigrated to the USA would be located and reached and take the gospel back to their people

May 29 - Pray for the Tilquiapan Zapotec

The Tilquiapan Zapotec have a population of 3,200. They are part of the Zapotec people cluster. This people group is only known to be found in Mexico. Their primary language is Tilquiapan Zapotec and their primary religion is a mixture of Catholicism and tribal witchcraft. This people group is less than 2% evangelical, and while some evangelical resources are available, there has been no active church planting among them within the past two years.

As you pray for the Tilquiapan Zapotec:
1. Ask the Father to raise up workers to take the gospel to them
2. Ask for open access, as many groups are suspicious of evangelicals

The Tejalapan Zapotec have a population of 150. They are part of the Zapotec people cluster. This people group is only known to be found in Mexico. Their primary language is Spanish and their primary religion is a mixture of Catholicism and tribal witchcraft. This people group is less than 2% evangelical, some evangelical resources are available, but there has been no active church planting among them whem within the past two years.

As you pray for the Tejalapan Zapotec:

May 27 - Pray for the Ocotlan Zapotec

The Ocotlan Zapotec have a population of 18,000. They are part of the Zapotec people cluster. This people group is found in Mexico, and likely in the USA. Their primary language is Spanish and their primary religion is a mixture of Catholicism and tribal witchcraft. This people group is less than 2% evangelical, and while some evangelical resources are available, there has been no active church planting among them within the past two years.

As you pray for the Ocotlan Zapotec:
